Meet
Simon the Wonder Dog!
Meet
Hamilton the Great!
Empower your culinary skills, feed your canine companion better and all the while you will be helping dogs in No-Kill shelters find their fur-ever homes!

Welcome to Dining with the Dog-Ma! Our mission is to teach, encourage healthy lifestyles for
you and your furry friend and help dogs in no-kill shelters. We believe that feeding your dog should be easy, delicious, and affordable. We provide high quality, canine-friendly spices and herbs to add a touch of flavor to your dog's meals and yours too. Made from human-grade ingredients and produced in a plant for human consumption, our range of spices is designed to appeal to both you and your fur-baby's palate.
Check out our website to discover new ways to spice up your dog's meals and yours too!

Simon the Wonder Dog is our constant inspiration, and we hope you'll find inspiration in his story as well!
After 3 years in a no-kill shelter and being considered "unadoptable" because he was black and not cute enough,
we discovered each other. It was a magical moment, and our special kind of magic still happens every day.
Our days start bright and early, and his breakfast consists of old fashioned rolled oats, chia, milled flax, non fat Greek yogurt and fruit. Blueberries are truly his favorite fruit and how he can manage to eat everything else in the bowl, all the while saving the blueberries for last is amazing. Some days he may get mango, apple, peach, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, dark cherries or a combination.
Whatever the finished bowl, he woofs it up and I do too!
Why fix 2 breakfasts when you can simply cook once for the both of you!
Simon turned 15 this last Summer and shows zero signs of slowing down! Chasing balls, running on our
acreage, or playing tug with his rope (which he does with the power of a gladiator!), he's bright and active
with the energy and shiny coat of a much younger dog.

Dinner is equally healthy and nutritious. Keeping it interesting for him isn't difficult, as he loves almost
all veggies. Tops on his list are broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, sweet peppers, peas, acorn squash, butternut squash and brussels sprouts. Every dinner has at least five different
veggies and cooked gently to about 50% tenderness.
Proteins consist of beef liver, beef hearts, beef kidney, salmon, tuna, eggs and chicken. He really loves fish in
general and keeping those Omega 3 Oils consistently in his system is crazy important.
It's good for his skin, coat, brain health, heart health and his joints.
Being the Dog-Ma, and not a huge fan of heavy carbohydrates, I avoid too much rice or potatoes, however Simon does get about 1/2 cup cooked Quinoa with his supper. The benefits include potassium, magnesium, vitamins B1, E
and all 9 of the Amino Acids, which by the way, dogs cannot produce Amino Acids on their own.
Quinoa is also high in protein and is considered a whole protein, and its gluten free and low in calories!
A variety of herbs and spices also grace our meals, such as Rosemary, Sage, Oregano, Parsley and so many more!
His dinner is topped with chicken bone broth or beef bone broth.
The American Kennel Club lists the following Bone Broth benefits for dogs:
Liver Detoxification - Immune System Boost - Maintaining Healthy Skin and Coat
Supporting Strong Joints - Improved Digestive Health - A Source of Essential Minerals - Fights Inflamation
and....
Enhances Hydration and Appetite
The Bone Broth chapter in the cookbook "Dining With the Dog-Ma" alone is a great
reason to add this cookbook to your arsenal of great information!

Holy smokes that is a lot of info!
